RSVP Gallery for 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer ’15
The word “streetwear” is always up for discussion and in recent times “elevated” has been prefixed to the style of clothing. While the label modification can be a brand’s easy way out of the pigeonhole, actions speak louder than words and in this case “labels.” Elevated streetwear holds on to the styling cues from the once underground genre and reinterprets them with elements once only known to traditional high-fashion. Whether in the quality of materials or the ideas being executed through the product, the successful intersection of these two styles of fashion can best be seen from Fear of God, OFF—White, and pioneering label of “streetwear” itself, BAPE. After all, who could say “no” to quality clothing with the comfort level ideal for a run to your nearest bodega? New York’s London Zhiloh didn’t as she led the RSVP team around the Big Apple.
