Nigo is the undoubtedly one of the forefathers of streetwear. He left Bape over two years ago to focus on other ventures, and the brand is still thriving today. One of his most notable projects to date is his new label Human Made. It is a unique situation; Nigo, native to Japan, has created a line centered around Americana graphics and motifs.
While Bape was more true to streetwear’s rugged reputation, his new line’s offerings propose an antithesis to the common aesthetic. Still irrevocably cool, Nigo injects his 50’s era adoration into Human Made’s graphics with whimsical illustrations. This season is marked with signature style graphics and highlighted by Nigo’s take on the classic striped tee.
The collection is available in store and online at RSVP Gallery. For more information or to place an order email please@rsvpgallery.com or call (773) 770-6666.
At the risk of sounding like a geriatric, I remember the Bape website before there was an online shop in the United States. I remember grabbing an AOL dial-up disk from Target and logging on to geek over the new lookbooks. Most importantly, I remember that jam that used to play when my 56k modem finally reached the site.
When we saw all of the new Bape at the Gallery, we decided to feed our nostalgia. The result: an insane amount of fits to pay homage to the beloved streetwear giant, set to Nigo’s iconic Year 3878. Check out the video above for camo, neon, and nonsense.

Neon and Nonsense has been busy. For the 11th installment, we traveled to Florence, Italy, Tampa, Los Angeles, and the rainforest. Right at home in Chicago we were blessed with the presence of Young Thug and Lil Yachty, along with the rest of their associates at RSVP Gallery. In Italy, we headed to the legendary Pitti Uomo showcase to get an inside look at the newest collections from Raf Simons and Gosha Rubchinskiy. In LA we took to Tyler, the Creator’s extravagant Golf fashion show. While down in Tampa, we partied with YesJulz, as she brought out Robb Bank$ and Playboi Carti to join the festivities.
Watch the episode above for a full dose of the Nonsense™ and stay tuned for more rare footage. If you haven’t already, check out episode 10 when we tackled Tokyo.
Bape has entrenched itself into history with its undeniably discernible camo colorways and graphics. Since 1993, the streetwear juggernaut has towered above its competition, creating some of the most iconic pieces in recent memory. The Shark hoodie and its slew of successors have been at the pinnacle, holding grail status since their introduction. Twenty-three years and counting, there is no sign of slowing down for the Japanese powerhouse.
RSVP Gallery took to the rainforest to capture Bape’s newest season in its element. With the continued motif of camo variations, it was necessary to get to the core of the brand’s identity. Our team hung out with the gorillas, crocodiles, and snakes while swathed in this season’s most covetable pieces. A fresh grip of classic shark hoodies, camo pants, swim shorts, and graphic tees are at the center of this season’s exhibition. With the debut of their newest ‘Tropical’ camo variation, Bape is back at it again in rare form.
The newest season is available in-store at RSVP Gallery with select pieces online. For more information email please@rsvpgallery.com or call (773) 770-6666.
In the second offering of our ‘Staff Picks’ series, RSVP Gallery’s Creative Director Zach Coffman gives us a unique insight into his favorite items around the shop. Coffman has been a member of the team since 2011 and has had his hand in a number of iconic designs and collaborations over the years. Check out his picks below.
Readymade Duffle: This is an ill new brand. I really dig their craftiness and use of premium materials. I especially like that some of their items even come with stuffed animals 🐸💩⛺️
Bape Belt: This is pure nostalgia from the golden age of Bape. I might have to do this with a Louis belt, or better yet the Swarovski jawn with a Gucci belt. I’ve got some hunting to do… 💎🐒🚿📝
Just Don Hat: Don makes the go-to snakeskin cap. The buck-fifty. You can’t go wrong, natural or dyed. I have an affinity for the Larry Legend green brim special since I’m from Indiana 🐍🏀🎮
RSVP Gallery Crystal Ball T-Shirt: Easily my favorite tee from our most recent collection 🔮✨🔋
Astro Boy: If only I had invested in Apple stock back in the 80’s… 😓😭😲
A portion of the picks are available online, while the rest can be found in-store at RSVP Gallery. For more information email please@rsvpgallery.com or call +1(773) 770-6666 for phone orders.
