Alexander Wang’s show at NYFW was a spectacle in itself. The event, which he called “#WANGFEST,” brought out a plethora of fashion heavyweights and superstars alike to the warehouse at Pier 94 in Manhattan. After an hour, eager fans saw Wang’s newest collection, as well as one of the biggest surprises of Fashion Week thus far.

Wang’s namesake label has been known for intertwining street and popular culture into full luxury collections. This year was no exceptions, as models journeyed the runway in surf-inspired jackets, tees, and hats. Wang has become synonymous with the color black, but this year he showed attendees a wealth of new patterns and graphics.

Perhaps the biggest surprise came after models showed the full mainline collection. The room fell black, and the screen at the front of the runway showed an obscure video, ending with an upside down Adidas logo. The lights came back up, and all of the models came down the runway in a mob of black athletic gear, unveiling his upcoming collection with Adidas Originals.

Shortly after the unveiling, the Screen in front of the runway rolled away to reveal the show’s after party; a small town featuring a full service 7/11, complete with candy, donuts, and slushies, McDonald’s which served burgers, fries, and breakfast, along with an abundance of surprises for guests.
