Connections for Abused Women and their Children
Founded in 1976, Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) is Chicago’s oldest domestic violence program. The organization offers a variety of services and resources throughout Chicago, including shelter, substance abuse treatment, counseling, court advocacy, and more.
My Block, My Hood, My City provides underprivileged youth with an awareness of the world and opportunities beyond their neighborhood. The organization takes students on explorations focused on topics such as: STEM, Arts & Culture, Citizenry & Volunteerism, Health, Community Development, Culinary Arts, Entreprenurism and more. Since the COVID-19 crisis began, the organization has provided groceries, household supplies, technology resources and virtual programming to ensure that underprivileged families and children are able to stay connected and further their exploration.
Feeding the Frontlines Detroit
A partnership between the city of Detroit, the Mayor’s Office, Angel’s Share Inc. and Dine Drink Detroit, Feeding the Frontlines supports local restaurants and provides meals for frontline and healthcare workers during the COVID-19 crisis.
